Review: Swap.com - Online Thrift Store (Baby Clothes order)

Image
Overall score: 15 out of 20 (Above average; good condition clothes; good value) For the most part, I'm stocked on kid's clothes. I just had my third baby girl, so I don't need to worry about boys clothes for now. I've acquired a lot via hand-me-downs, thrift stores, clearance purchases, and new clothes now and then from KIDBOX or my favorite Online Boutique the Hair Bow Company. But for whatever reason, I don't have many 18 month clothes! My first breezed through the 18 months and went into the 2s fast, so I might just not have noticed that I was low in that size. My second is now 16 months and needs to wear the 18 month clothes. But I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg getting her some more clothes, either. I spent some time browsing clearance sales online but realized that if I wanted to get her more than a few outfits I needed to find something cheaper. Enter Swap.com. It's a site I've been aware of for a while, but I've never mad...

Kidbox - Third box review! (New Years, 2019)

Image
I decided to order a second New Year's box since the last was underwhelming - and I'm glad I did! I put a reminder for them to check my emailed notes when doing the style quiz. It definitely looks like they paid attention. We kept the whole box. Styling wasn't 100% spot on as one item was very opposite of what I asked for, but I'm comfortable raising the rating back up to a very good 17/20. I probably won't need any more boxes soon as we have plenty of size 4 clothes now, but I plan to get more once she is into the 5s and possibly for gifts for other relatives. I covered what the subscription is and cost/shipping/etc. in my first two blog posts on it, so in this blog post I am going to take a closer look at the actual clothes we got. Not all pictures will be perfect as my just-turned-three toddler doesn't like to stay still for pictures ;) Each Kidbox comes smartly packaged in a cardboard box with Kidbox splashed across the side. My daughter knows when th...

Kidbox - Second Box Review! New Years 2019

Kidbox - Second Box Review! New Years 2019 So, my first review after updating for my positive experience with customer service and the exchange of a damaged item for a different style ended at 17/20 - pretty great! But I was curious as to how the second box would stack up. I just received it today and...well it was OK, but not great. I see why they picked some of the items they did, it just didn't overall seem to pay attention to my notes and only one item was a 'love.' My toddler had fun unpacking the box but didn't want to actually try anything on. Most items were decent, but not spot on styling wise. I didn't think keeping a box of 'OK' items made sense so we only kept the one special pair of leggings. I'm lowering the overall score to 16/20 for now (Very good, definitely worth a try.) I plan to order another box, but am debating whether to push my luck by getting another New Year's Box or just wait until the next box offering. To re-cap s...

Kidbox - First Box review! Winter box 2018

Kidbox - First Box review! Winter box 2018 (Review updated to reflect interaction with customer service and replacement item sent!)  Overall: 11  17 out of 20 - Very promising! A few glitches, but overall good value and great customer service. Will be ordering a New Year's Box to try this out again! I recently signed up through a referral code to try out Kidbox. I've researched a number of kid boxes and I was attracted to this one for a number of factors: #1 - No styling fee! Many boxes have a styling fee, and while those fees are refunded if you buy enough items, why take the risk? If a box offers personalization according to style notes, then I shouldn't be charged if nothing in the box is my style, right? #2 - Free shipping! Free returns! Free exchanges for size! This is huge for me. For some reason I really hate shipping fees, even if they make sense (I'm not paying gas money and don't have the hassle of traveling, after all, and it certainly costs the ...
